Hype: Privacy policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026Hype ("we", "the app") is a daily-motivation app. We've kept it simple: no account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. This policy explains the little data the app does handle. What the app stores on your device
The hypes you save (their text, chosen voice, artwork, and the generated audio file) and your streak are stored locally on your device. We do not have a server that collects or stores them.
What is sent to third parties (to make hypes)
To generate a hype, the app sends the text you provide (the moment, an optional note, and a name if you add one) to:
Anthropic (Claude API) — to write the pep-talk text. See Anthropic's privacy policy at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
ElevenLabs — to turn that text into the spoken voice audio. See ElevenLabs' privacy policy at https://elevenlabs.io/privacy
These services process the text to return your hype. They are independent processors governed by their own privacy policies. The app sends only the text needed to create the hype — no account, contacts, or device identifiers.
On supported devices, text may instead be generated on-device (Apple Foundation Models), in which case it is not sent off the device at all.Sharing a hype
When you tap Send, the app creates a video file on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. You choose where it goes (Messages, WhatsApp, etc.). We are not involved in that delivery and do not receive it.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. No push server is involved.
What we do NOT collect
No accounts, no email, no contacts, no location, no advertising identifiers, no analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell or share data with data brokers, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.
Children
Hype is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
